making ofrendas
Create a Mexican altar in honour of a departed loved one in 3D collage art from bits and bobs. Artists Gerardo Avila and Tam Harrington will provide the Hispanic cultural background information behind ofrendas and help you create your own. Small objects and materials will be transformed into unique objects of art. All materials and tools will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any small objects from home. Limited to 12 participants.

Master mask artist Gerardo Avila will show you how to make carnival style masks just in time for Halloween and our Samhain Parade and Carnival. All ages welcome, all materials provided. Limited to 12 participants per workshop.

THRILLER FLASH DANCE MOB
Join the spooky fun at the Thriller Flash Mob dance event! The final flash mob performance is Tuesday October 31 at Hackett Park - between 7-8pm during the annual SAMHAIN Hallow’s Eve celebration
Additional event entertainment includes: Dia de Las Muertos shadow puppet theatre, musicians Susana Williams, Caravan Paradiso and the Cool Heat firedancers.
